Parent Testimonials

Since our son was age 10, we have been part of the Mudcats. The coaching, conditioning and camaraderie for the committed ballplayer is second to none in the city. Their dedicated facility and coaches makes baseball training convenient, fun and thorough. After playing park district ball for a couple years, the availability of a program like this has helped Ethan become a much better ballplayer and athlete. We would recommend the Mudcats to any serious ballplayer looking to improve on his game and get to the next level in baseball.

Beyond mastering the game of baseball, Justin Stringer and the Chicago Mudcats instill a sense of purpose in their players. Players donate jackets, mentor younger players, and volunteer their time to improve the City of Chicago. One day, I am looking forward to having my children play for the Chicago Mudcats!

Justin Stringer has built a baseball program for Chicago youth that not only provides the highest quality training, but also builds confidence, character and a sense of community. The program has exceeded our expectations! Justin's coaches and staff have no hidden agenda, they are there for the kids and want to get the best out of each and every one of them on and off the field.

Having played in park district leagues since the age of three, our son, a skilled player, was stagnating and losing confidence playing in parent-coached programs. At the age of 10 we decided to try something different and joined the Mudcats. Since joining we have seen incredible improvement in his game and more importantly his confidence as a player has grown. Our son loves the game, his teammates and coaches and is proud to be a Mudcat.

Both of my kids have been a part of the Chicago Mudcat baseball program for 4 years now. High quality coaching, tons of training included in the program fee, value-based, community service, no politics or nepotism as there are no parent coaches. Kids love it! Families are nice. The kids skills, teams and program keep getting better every year! We'll be back...

We are about to enter our second year with the Mudcats program. We have been pleased with all aspects and see continued justification for leaving house league. The dedication of the coaches / players and families is wonderful. This experience has focused the kids to be better players, as well as better members of the community. We look forward to seeing the continued development of our son as a player, as well as realizing the importance of community and doing the right things with professionalism.

My son attended the three week fielding and pitching classes in December at The Dome in Rosemont.  The program was well organized and kept my son engaged the entire time - he really enjoyed it, and learned a lot.

I was so impressed with the Mudcats that I called and scheduled two private lessons with Josh at the Creek.  Josh is such an excellent instructor and my son cannot wait to have another lesson.  The Mudcats' baseball  program is the best I have seen in all the programs I have sent my son to in the past.

We are grateful for our experience with the Mudcats as the coaching staff is knowledgeable, experienced, and relates so well to the kids.

Last week my kids had a wonderful experience at your camp. They said “l became friends with coach” and they seemed happy. I'm so happy too. I'm sure I want them to join again your camp next year.

Following is an excerpt from a thank you letter from a Mudcat family moving away from Chicago -

To our Mudcat family- All the way home from the Dells I thought about how lucky we are to have spent the last 4 years with you all. Not only was Josiah fortunate enough to play along such sweet, hardworking, and supportive teammates and coaches, but as a family, we have made great friendships and had some of the best experiences together- on, near and away from the field.

Thanks to many of you for the continued support with rides and car pools, follow up emails and reminders, snacks, meals, etc. The list goes on. The point is we were only able to be a part of this team because everyone gave so generously of their time, thoughts and many other resources. We appreciate every single bit of our Mudcat experience.

And then there is the going-away party -such a lovely surprise!! While the hard reality of saying goodbye quickly came into focus, I know last night will forever be in Josiah's heart, and mine as well. Watching him read through everything and examine all his gifts all the way home, it was clear that he was truly touched by it all.  Whether your son played all 4 years with Josiah or this was the first, Josiah loves his team and is proud to call them all friends.

A simple "thank you" just doesn't convey how much everything you have done means to us, but thank you nonetheless. We will definitely be keeping in touch and we look forward to coming out to watch the boys play next season when we are in town.

Dear Noel - You have been such an amazing influence on my son this year. He was hesitant about trying pitching, but I am so glad he [tried]. You have helped him grow both as a player and in his overall level of confidence. [You have taught him] to be the best he can be. That is because of you.

Your sincere concern for each of your players is obvious, and I know we will see you again in 2018, I just wanted to thank you for the hard work you put into all our kids. You are an awesome coach!!!
